The Grand Parade of Sail will highlight the day’s activities as vessels parade in flotillas from Broad Sound into the main channel of Boston Harbor turning at Charlestown, before proceeding to their assigned berthing areas. Public viewing of the parade will bbe spectacular from many shoreside sites, including Castle Island, the Seaport District, the Boston Waterfront, East Boston, the North End, and Charlestown. On Saturday July 11th, the MBTA is offering special ferry service from Hingham to Spectacle Island. Tickets can be purchased exclusively at the Hingham ticket office (28 Shipyard Dr, Hingham, MA 02043) weekdays 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM and weekends 8:00 AM to 9:009 PM while supplies last. Riders must specify what time they will depart from Hingham and what return trip they intend to take from Spectacle Island. Passengers will be expected to pass through securing prior to boarding the ferry. For prices, schedule and more information, see MBTA’s press release.
On this day, all regular commuter ferry service will be suspended. A special ferry schedule will restore Hingham service after 5:00 PM.
